Your thoughts may break you

Your invisible thoughts may make you or break you.

You need to guard your thoughts. Negative thoughts will result in negative outcome. Thoughts in line with God’s life and nature will bring about positive outcome.

How do you normally respond to a negative situation? Suppose your boss gives you a difficult project, how would you respond? Your immediate response may be “Why me? It is ridiculous!” If this is how you think, guess what’s next? You will be filled with resentment, pressure, and even depression. These negative reactions will produce adverse impacts on you and reduce your energy level. They may even cause you to have violent behavior toward people around you.

So, what shall you do? Make a U turn! You have to adjust your thoughts by turning to the Lord. Check with the Lord “Lord, do you agree with my negative thoughts? What would you think?” If you do this, you would be connected to the life and nature of God. God’s love, God’s kindness, God’s wisdom, God’s patience, God’s peace, God’s rest and God’s joy would come into you. Instead of complaining, you now would tell the Lord, “Thank You for my boss and this difficult project.” The project remains difficult, but you are a different person! Guess what? You would be filled with strength to complete (even enjoy) the project because you are one with God!

Singing a hymn would help you make a U turn as well.

“Let your forbearance be known to all men. The Lord is near. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God will guard your thoughts in Christ.” (Philippians 4:5-7)
